The Alien Aisha Vending Machine is a game you can play (in the sense that there is a high score table) by entering a nerkmid into the machine and pressing some buttons. Prizes are awarded randomly and are typically gross food items. Those who are lucky, can get a paint brush or another nerkmid!

What are Nerkmids?
Nerkmids are a sort of token that can only be used with the vending machine. There are twenty in total. You can get them from random events, the Wheel of Extravagance and the Battledome. Of course they are also available from user shops, trades, and auctions. The table below lists the twenty nerkmids in order of rarity; prices fluctuate often, though due to the Wheel of Extravagance and the Battledome giving them out, all nerkmids are now buyable (meaning they cost less than 100,000 NP). There's no evidence to confirm that a rarer one will get you better prizes, so if you're buying one, it's best to just go with the cheapest one you can find at the time.

Using the Machine
When you arrive at the Vending Machine, you will be greated by an Alien Aisha. Press the button to continue.
The Alien Aisha says, 'My great machine will give you the loveliest foods in the world' Put a Nerkmid in the machine, and it will dispense rare and exotic foods for your pet. Press the buttons and push the levers for a chance to get a rarer treat. The better the Nerkmid, the better your prize! (click here for the hi-scores!) |
Assuming you have a nerkmid, you will now be able to select which nerkmid to use. In addition to that, you will be able to choose how you would like to operate the machine. The choices you make will not affect the prizes you get. Listed below are the options you can choose from.

Prizes
Thankfully, you're guaranteed to walk away with something. The Vending Machine always awards a random amount of neopoints (this ranges from 1 to over 50,000 NP) and an item prize.

The most common item awarded is a gross food. The majority of these are hardly worth anything, but every once in a while they're a gourmet food and/or sell for quite a bit. |
Sometimes, the machine will give out fading bottled faeries. Just like Tombola and other dailies, the vending machine has not switched over to the weak bottled faeries. If you receive a weak bottled faerie, please neomail coolitiger25. |
Periodically, a nerkmid will fall out of the machine as a prize. Yay try again! |
If you're lucky, you can get a paint brush! The machine will give out literally any kind of paint brush, so you really could get lucky here. Unfortunately, the machine recognizes all items with 'paint brush' in the name as prizes, even if they're not actually paint brushes; for example, Yellow Paint Brush (TCG) is known to have been given out. It should also be noted that even starter paint brushes (those ones you get in your newbie pack when you join) are available as prizes, even though they are no-trade items. |

Making the High Score Table
Just as with every game, on the first of the month the high score table is cleared. At this time, it will be easier to get a trophy, as the scores that qualify for a trophy will be lower. The score that shows up on the table corresponds to the neopoint prize you were awarded on ONE nerkmid use -- it is not the total combined number of neopoints you have been awarded from all of your nerkmids that month. If you get enough Neopoints, you could get a trophy! If you're looking to get the trophy, make sure to stock up on nerkmids (or at the very least, be able to buy quite a few when you decide to try for the trophy). It could take any number of nerkmids to get a neopoint reward high enough for the table. You should also note that your rewards might not make up for the cost of all the nerkmids, so be prepared to lose Neopoints.

The Alien Aisha Vending Machine is a game run by a small army of Alien Aishas.
For a small (or perhaps large) price - a single Nerkmid - you can try your luck at winning a prize and some Neopoints. If your Neopoint reward is large enough, you may even qualify for a trophy! The first time you play the Vending Machine you will also receive an avatar.
How To Play
To play the Vending Machine, simply travel over to the Neopian Plaza, or the Vending Machine directly. Once there, click the button that says 'Press me to Continue!'. Make sure that you have at least one Nerkmid in your inventory, as this is required to play. The machine will ask you to select a combination of levers and buttons - your selection will not have an effect on the prize that you receive.
Obtaining Nerkmids
There are currently four confirmed methods for obtaining Nerkmids:
- A prize from a Random Event
- A prize from a Battledome Challenger in the Cosmic Dome (Premium members only)
- A prize from the Wheel of Extravagance
- A prize from the Alien Aisha Vending Machine itself

Prizes
There is a large prize pool for the Vending Machine. The different prizes are listed below. Chances of winning each type of prize are:
- Gross Food - 70%
- Nerkmid - 15%
- Fading Bottled Faerie - 10%
- 'Paint Brush' Item - 5%
There is no conclusive data about whether or not different Nerkmids give out different prizes. That being said, using expensive Nerkmids is no more likely to earn you a Paint Brush than the cheapest Nerkmid available.
Please note that you will always receive Neopoints in addition to one item when you play the Vending Machine.
Neopoints
You may be awarded anywhere between 1 NP to 86,000 NP or more, but the majority of NP rewards are under 2000 NP. The chances of higher NP rewards are exponentially lower for every 10,000 NP extra.
High Scores and Trophies
Your score on the high score table is equal to the amount of Neopoints you receive from the machine using a single Nerkmid (which, of course, is based on luck). Using additional Nerkmids only changes your high score if the Neopoints you receive is higher than your previous highest trial. (In other words, it is not accumulative.)
It's advantageous to spend Nerkmids at the beginning of the month after the table has been wiped for the beginning of the month, as later in the month there will have been more lucky people with large amounts of NP that came through already.

You may receive any Fading Bottled Faerie.

Other Prizes
You may receive any Gross Food item that is rarity 98 and below, any Nerkmid, and any item up to rarity 150 with the word 'Paint Brush' in it.
On July 5, 2019, twenty-seven non-Paint Brush items had their names updated to either 'Paintbrush' or 'PaintBrush' so they are no longer part of the Vending Machine prize pool.
